Default Headers and exhaust installed!

I installed the headers (pacesetter longtubes) with a friend. Took about 16 hours with all the hang ups and breaks. Got the car back from the exhaust shop. I with the LTs, ORY, 3in/out cat, hooker aerochamber muffler. The car definately feels more powerful and still has a close to stock sound. The only issue is that it seems like the headers aren't sealing properly so im getting that nice header leak sound. Does that go away after retightening them a few times? I have the pacesetter y-pipe, its slipfit to the headers and the guy that installed the exhaust put some wrap around flange thing on it to hold it shut, could that possibly be an issue?

Other than that, the car is amazing and feels nice and ALIVE.

might have the exhaust guy weld them on, would seal up the leak.

Where's the leak? Flange or at the collectors? What kind of clamps do you have? I got band clamps that seal the gap between the slip fit.
I wouldn't get anything welded on the exhaust. I've had to take my exhaust off several times to do whatever to my car. It's much easier if it's not all one piece.

i think the leak is at the header gaskets, i tightened them down like crazy but they still leak. i got the kind that are embossed for the header ports. any ideas other than tightening them down more?

well the only thing i could think of is that the gaskets are a little off, i would check under the header with your finger and make sure they didnt slip out a little bit or are a little bit off-center, that could cause a leak.

Did you ever notice the header flanges warped/bowed?

im starting to think that the gasket is junk, its too much for the tiny header bolts to torque down. im going to get a flat gasket and see if its different

Clamps=JUNK. Weld everything up with the exception of the connection to the headders and the cat to the rear portion.
