Default random misfire problem

Yesterday my car started to random misfire. A friend of mine hooked it up to his scan tool and it misfired well over 100 time in a short period of time. I can't see no arcing anywhere. I was thinking that the ignition coil module or the opti is bad. It was running great one min. and crappy as hell the next.

Mine did this and has done this in the past. Sometimes you cant see it arcing even in the dark. Mine has always been spark plug wires and once an O2 sensor.

Sounds like the opti IMO. Use a multi meter to check the coil to rule that out first. Check plugs and plug wire connections at plugs and opti second. Then check the opti.

How do you check the opti, coil, and module?

Here you go, tons of info on the most common problems that occur with LT-1's and how to fix them. The info you need is located towards the bottom of the list after you click on the HOW TO's. Get your self a Haynes Repair Manual and multi-meter from your local parts store. Probably cost you about 30.00. Don't be affraid to make a mistake, that's how we learn. Paying a shop to do what you can learn is a waste of money that could be used for mods.

I ran into the same issue lately. Can you hear any snapping/popping sounds when you're sitting in your garage? I started hearing those sounds, then it started running poorer, then the SES lit up, showing a random misfire. I would troubleshoot in the order of cost... least expensive first. Too bad plugs and wires on these cars are a complete pain Let us know how everything turns out.

I all ready have a lt4 KM. I think I'll try the fuel filter first. It's the cheapest thing I could try.
