Default Rear Axle Swap help please !!

I have a 94 Z28 with a stock rear axle and 4:10 gears. I want to buy a 2001 LS1 rear axle with 3:73 out of a Trans Am and wanted to ask what's the difference between the one I have now and the 2001 axle? I know the gears are different but as far as brakes, rotors,Calipers, length and everything else, will it be just a direct replacement to my 94 axle? What else needs to be done to put this 2001 on my 94?
Thanks a lot for your help in advance.

The axels are the same lenght. The only thing you will have to change is you ABS sensor. The 2001 hase the ABS on each end of the axel tubes. Your 94 will have it right on top of the diff housing. Which the 2001 may not have the hole for or not. I can't remember, it might have a cap you need to pop off. You will have to change the brakes out unless your keeping the LS1 brakes.

can I actually keep the LS1 brakes and calipers on it? As for a traction control this 2001 axle DOES NOT have a traction control, so should I be ok? Just sensors issue and that's it?

even if the 01 has a hole on top the housing, it doesnt mean its got the teeth on the Ring for the sensor to hook to. might, might not

So the ABS sensor location might be the only problem here?
