Not trying to be a dick or anything, but I've had a set of custom race hearders made in the past that didn't take this long. I think I would have to call the people that are designing them and ask what is taking so long. You have a lot of people that are willing to buy these things (including me) but aren't gonna wait forever. We are talking 4 months so far.

will they be available without the Y pipe? have you guys figured out a finale price? once they start production, how long of a back log do you think you'll have on these? and will people that have requested a set on here get priority?

Can you give another status report and ETA?
Man the wait is killing me Any more news since the initial test fit? Can you give a estimate for January delivery? How likely? 50%, 75% 100%.
Any meaningful information would be good. For instance. After you are satisfied with the test fitment...How many sets are you going to order? How long will it take for production? Are you guaranteed sets from the first production run? Etc. Surely you know the answers to some of these questions.

Still waiting on the next first off to see how it fits. Should be getting it soon. Sorry but we have a lot of projects going on so these have to wait in line. Once I get the next one off and make sure it fits ok they will be in full production in 30 days.

What to Do...What to Do
So, based on that, I'm thinking April time frame is realistic. So, my question now is do I drop $1200 for a custom stainless set (ready in two weeks) or wait 4 months MORE months for a set that is less than half that amount. Honestly it's tough decision...since I have the money...and in Texas the driving weather is beautiful this time of year.
Help me out by telling me they will be ready sooner

I'm a little confused. Black2002SS claims he owns the company which used to be called SSAutoChrome... but can't get production moving on parts he has a clear market for. Rough estimate says he could sell at least 50 sets just from people who posted in this thread.
Something smells funny. Want to clarify for us, Black2002SS?
How about answering:
Do you in fact own SSAutoChrome, now with a new name?
Who and where are these actually being produced?
If in NC or anywhere else within 500 miles of Maryland, to aid R&D and in exchange for a free set of headers, would you like my 94 to sit in the shop so test fitting can happen 3 times a day instead of once in 3 months? You could be in production in a matter of days, not months.
Please understand, I'm not calling anyone a liar at all.... I just think that with the demonstrated interest, this SHOULD be a priority for whoever is making these headers. I for one would LOVE to see affordable SS LT headers for the lT1; I love Kooks, but they are a little pricey for my taste. These should come in at a very slight premium to the Pacesetters, and will be a GREAT alternative.
I'm willing to volunteer the use of my 94 for a reasonable period of time for test-fitting and helping get these done; just because I'd love to see these on the market as soon as possible.

Ok let me clarify everything for you. I have my own company LPP. I was selling the XS headers that SSAutochrome makes. I started my own company to sell headers and exhaust that I design. I have contracted with SSAutochrome to make my headers. They will be made to my specs. So SSAutochrome will be making my headers and exhaust for me which will be LPP brand. They may choose to keep making the XS headers if they like but they will be their headers not mine. SSAutochrome makes the headers in NC. I live in FL. I have been using my 2002 WS6 and my 95 Trans Am to make the headers and exhaust and sending them the mock ups for them to make for me. Since they are in NC and I'm in FL it takes time shipping things back and fourth. Also they have lots of things they make so I have to wait in line for my products to be made. The LT1 headers would already be out if I approved the first off but I didn't like the way a couple of the pipes fit so I cut and rewelded them the way I want them to be. I'm sorry that some people don't like the fact that it takes time to make a product that will fit the way I want it too. I'm sure when these are ready to sell everyone will appreciate the time it took to make them.
Please let me know if anyone has any other questions. That's why I like this forum I get lots of feedback to know how things are going or not going

OK, I know enough about tubing fabrication to be dangerous Are these a "new" design? Based on previous posts, it is my understanding that these LT1 headers will be based on the hooker design. Most tubing fabricators have the ability to use a digitizing arm to quickly reverse engineer each tube...and generate CNC tube bending data. Once the data is collected, you can bend identical tubes all day long with a CNC bender. If they are indeed based on the hooker headers, why are there tube fitment issues...with the hooker type design?
If you recall, I emailed you privately offering to help as well. I have access to VRTUBE which is an $18,000 header design program. I have supplied a link to a "rendering" of a SBC header I designed on this system. I could do it for any car if the digital data is collected of the engine compartment...typically with a FARO digitizing arm. Anyway, there is no shortage of people willing to help along the process.

They are not based on the hooker design. The manufacture has all the necessary equipment and software to produce the headers but thanks for your offer. Much appreciated. There is no problem with the pipes or anything we think it was just a problem with the jigs that caused the fitment problems. They have remade the jig and will be sending me another sample in about a week. They shut down from christmas until new years so that was just another delay
