4.10's with a six speed question

Def. want the 4.10s. First gear doesn't become useless either. Whats 5-10mph? If thats the case just start in second. Or third. A few times I put it in 5th instead of reverse, and the car will move forward........

nobody seems to mention it is a little worse on the rear end because it spins the driveshaft much faster and can burn out the bearings. 4.10s are made for these cars, put them in, and dont look back

Hell i even thought about 4.30, my buddy had them, it was in a 12 bolt though.

Remember he has a 93 with the M29. 3.73's in these cars feels like a 4.10 in a 94 and later 6 spd 1st-3rd, but also gives a higher mph in 4th gear per given rpm compared to the 4.10.

Two of them drive tucks. The one is a redneck type. They both said 3.73 is great. The one guy has 4.10s in his truck... so... eh... between you guys and then....another friend of mind is a mechanic and my buddy I turn to for anything I cant figure out or handle. He is very knowledgable and back 20 years ago was in the drag racing scene. I completely trust his input... He laughed and said 4.10's unless I plan on going beyond 140 all the time.

I think I understand this issue the more and more I get opinions, and it will ultimately come down to personal preference. I just like to hear the thoughts on it cause I dont want to buy both.. haha.. I'll end up with the 4.10's I'm sure.

Old thread, but since it got brought up. I am contemplating going to 4.10s with my cam swap soon, but I don't know if I should since I'll be running spray too..

old thread but advice is the same..
are you NA or non NA
i would say if you use N2O don't bother with 4.10s if motor is relatively stock you don't want to hit the 1/4 in 5th(PITA to shift)

i have had my 4.10s for a while now and absolutely love them,just remember 4.10s,good clutch,good launching and a 10-bolt usually have a timely relationship
