Default How to change struts?

I need to replace my struts and I dint know if it would be easier to someone put them on or if i was able to put them on.

i guess it depends on your level of experience, tools, tolerance of frustration, etc...

I just did mine this weekend and that writeup would have been helpful since I pretty much just went at it myself, but it wasn't too hard if you know what your doing...

Unbolt the old ones, bolt up the new ones, J/K, if you dont do your own wrench turning you might as well not do that ither.

rent a spring compressor from autozone. its like $40. compress the springs and remove the top bolt. replace spring on new strut. and decompress spring and reinstall

First, find a car that has struts. Our cars have shocks.

Taking the shock-spring assembly out of the car is pretty easy, but getting the spring off and be a problem as the nut on top of the shock can be get very rusty and hard to get off. Take it to a shop that will compress the spring and swap the shock out for you.

The rears are easy, the fronts are a bit of a pain.
The howto writeup is very helpful.

You can generally bribe a local board member with beer to help
(to be consumed after the work is complete)
