So is it best to get a hoter or colder plug with more compression? My compression is around 11.5:1

You want a colder plug with higher compression.

not exactly true... i have 11.7 and i run tr55's all day and i don't have any problems only time i run a colder plug (tr66) is when i'm spraying at the track or what not... but i guess its all up to the owner but either way use NGK and you'll stay happy.

True, you don't really have to, but since he was asking hotter or colder...

If you're going to change up what you run on high compression you want to do it colder rather than hotter.

Most people should be fine with the tr55.
