Default Lt1 Needs Help

A Couple Of Wet Days And My Lt1 All Of A Sudden Misfires...first I Was Told It Could Be The Opti Spark, So I Replaced The Distrubator And Cap Rotor Everything But It Still Doesnt Work...it Turns On But When Put On Drive It Shakes And Throws Gray Smoke Out The Back...it Wont Turn Off, It Was All Of A Sudden Not Sure What To Do, Onw Day It Works And The Other It Sucks...

Does Anyone Have Any Ideas?

The distributor and cap rotor is not the optispark. The optispark sits behind the waterpump,is that what u changed? Also,stop capitalizing every damn word.

Um... yeah it is.

The optispark is the distributor on lt1 cars. The cap/rotor is part of it.

Hmmm,i knew it was the distributor,i thought the cap/rotor was seperate. Been a while since i messed with the opti. I'll be removing my foot from my mouth now

Is this a vented Opti (95-97)? And yeah seriously, What's With All The Capital Letters???

HAHA it still kept doing the same thing, they told me to take off the ingitors and clean them. To much gas is going through, any suggestions?

hey guys i took the car to get checked again and the guy said that the ingitors 1 and 2 are the ones misfiring... then that the 02 sensors are ok but are showing some trouble to them...do you think cleaning the ingitors and replacing the o2 will help my car.

yea it could be the injectors but I also had a problem one time when i replaced one when the seal around the crank case folded in and got oil all in the new opti and would barely run. I would try to clean the injectors and at least see if they are fireing.
