Default 94 Z28 no power need help !!.......

My friends 94 Z28 is lacking alot of power. He bought it 3 weeks ago and thought it was only a clogged cat. Well, replaced the cat to no avail.
Here is a list of things we did to try to fix the problem :
new optispark
replaced computer
maf sensor
map sensor
tested coolant temp sensor

The check engine light stayes on when driving and goes off when stopped.
The car has 108,000 miles on it and idles great. Car does not buck or skip. Just lacking ALOT of power. It does smell a little rich.
Btw... when i say slow i mean 16 second slow !!
Please help....
Thanks

check the fuel pressure, sounds like a bad filter or clogged injector.

Well first, you need to get it scanned a see what the ses is for.

Aside from that, it definitely sounds like a fuel problem. If it was ignition, it would probably miss or stumble. Check fuel pressure, replace fuel filter, clean injectors, etc.

Default Scan it!

You should have scanned it before you dropped that new **** in.
The hit and miss business cost you more money than you have to spend usually.

You say the SES light comes on but you don't have a code? Sorta impossible if you ask me. Does your scanner show all the sensor readings? Because if you know what the sensors are supposed to read, you can easily spot the problem. You should make sure the CTS is around 1.8v hot or o2's are fluctuating from around 0.2-0.9v. Check fuel pressure too.

A compression test was done after new heads were installed at the place where my friend bought the car.
The previous owner blew a head gasket. So, i asume the auto repair company upsold the previous owner w/ " needs new heads "

Is it possible that the tq converter is locked ? Could it lockup and be stuck on in all gears ?
