Default Pro 5.0 or hurst?

I've got a hurst in my caprice right now, and my brother has a pro 5.0 in his mustang. i was wondering if the pro 5.0 is as short with the 6-speed as it his in his car. I can drive his car 10x better than my own. The hurst has been a good shifter, but still feels really long compared to his. Just wondering if anybody has had both and what their views are on em. Thanx.

It is what it is, i think the pro 5.0 is one of the best, i would use a B&M before a Hurst.

I have the pro 5.0 and love it. The only thing is it's a little to long for my likeing, so i just cut it down and rethreaded it.

I have a B&M and really like it. But I have never used a Pro 5.0.

Mine isn't installed yet so I can't say how I like it from experience, but I've never heard a bad thing about pro 5.0 and have heard quite a few people who have used both tell me they liked the 5.0 better.

Or pick up one of the short handles from WS6 Store like I did.

I personally have the Hurst and I think its a great shifter, my friend has a trans am with the pro 5.0 and it actually felt like his was a bit longer then mine. My only complaint is the hurst is a very high shifter, it needs chopped and re-threaded but it feels much more smooth and precise then the pro 5.0.

Either that or he didn't install his right ....

If it is too long you can spend 20$ on a short stick that will bolt right in i believe.

I have pro 5.0 it comes with extra thread wound down the shaft, so all you would have to do is cut it.

It you wanted to go lower with it you can get the short stick also.

i've had both and it's a preference thing really as both perform very well. like said i agree the hurst is a bit smoother and the 5.0 is a bit more notchy. i also like the hurst because it is not quite as noisy as the 5.0. either way you will be very happy as either one is WAY better than stock.
