Fast enough for street or strip??? If street just go with all bolt ons, and a lil n20 doesnt hurt anybody. If you got money 2 blow, why not go forced induction also???

You will need to know what you want, thats the 1st thing. If you buy heads and cam and are thinking about nitrous or a blower then you will want to make sure that the heads and cam are set up for that so you don't need to buy parts twice. If you want street strip then do a full exhaust, a set of heads and a mild cam. If you have a A4 then you might not want to go bigger then 3.42 gears (you get the best of both worlds with that ratio) and a torque converter with a stall about 3600 for better daily drivability although there are guys on here with stalls between 4-5000 that daily drive them. Just make sure your heads and cam will match up with the TC and gears. Having the right combination of parts is where you get a good performance base and fine tuning things later to reach your max. So do your homework and research it out once you know where you want to go with you car.

i would think its a good idea to get all of the bolt on parts first and remove your AIR and EGR systems. then once your bolt ons are done start saving for a nice head cam combo. If you can save up like 3k or so (for the heads and cam) you can probably get the 400 hp goal you want at the wheelsand some real nice passes at the track. just start saving money to throw at the car...

but you could just get all your bolt ons done and then use the moneyi was talking about to get yourself a new rear end for you car because you will break it.. and still get a nice port job on your heads top match your cam and still have the 400 hp you wanted.. maybe a lil more with some go go juice.

Do all the bolt ons and if you are not happy go from there.

I would do all the bolt ons then get nitrous. That was the route I went.

Whatever you dont have then get them, full exhaust, great cold air, air foil, under drive kit, tune, lower stat, 1.6 rockers and a 100 hit of dope then go from there if you want a cam and heads.

gears, headers, ORY, Catback, cai, bigger injectors(when you do cam), ewp, 160 thermo, tune

roller rockers, valvesprings, pushrods, timing set, gaskets when doing the cam and perhaps a clutch.

and like stated earlier a 9" or a 12 bolt is a good idea as well.

also some suspension work to help put the power to the ground

Yea, 1.6 rockers with new springs add lift and duration, it is like stepping up to a cam a little bit bigger.
