This came up on cz28 recently. Some people ordered these and they worked fine. I think the verdict was, they are delco optis but they have a different cap (it's black).

I cannot disagree. Let the buyer beware. I truly hope they are as good as Delco, as one is certainly in my future.

well I did a little more research. It looks like the ones from that all_ignition seller are not delco. http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=529298

I have had mine on for about 500 miles and six weeks - give or take. So far so good. Some have had problems with this seller's optis - but some have had problems with other optis too. I have read some horrible stuff about the MSD units ~way more money - no excuse~ lately. I rolled the dice.

Now with that said - I am knocking on wood.

Keep us posted, scottso, we certainly are interested. I am 90% certain that I am going to have to pull my opti on the way to rebuild my heads, and it would certainly be great to have an inexpensive opti to place there when I go back together.

I guess the scariest part is that they are selling it as a genuine AC Delco part, when clearly it is not. This screams BOGUS to me, and says that no warranty need apply. Gotta love the price, though. Where is Will Rogers when you need him? (outdated reference to Lost in Space and its robot).

It is kind of like the girl down the the street. You really want her to be 18, she says she is, but something tells you that something is wrong.

Well, pray for me guys, he hasnt answered my calls 2 days in a row, he did just get back with me via e-mail so his comminication is slow, which is better than none at all. He claims the opti is original delco with a better cap and rotor with the brass terminols, but how is that when it should be as he sais "still in box new". As i said, cross your fingers for me.

check the thread I posted. It's pretty much been established that they are not delco optis. Still they seemed to work for some people. Maybe it will be ok.

Please let us know. After all, many replace their opti with non-Delco units. If we can get one for half price, it would still be a boon.
I want to replace mine when I install my EWP, so this would still be a fantastic find if it is of good quality.

For what it's worth - when I asked in June - I got this response...

"We buy these direct from AC Delco's factory in large bulk, they are brand new optisparks. Replacement under the warranty can be done through us for the life of the vehicle that the part is installed on. Thanks!"

By comparing answers to yours and mine, as well as answers I have seen others got - it is obvious they are making them up on the fly. More than a few weeks to several months out - I certainly would not count on a warranty. It is, however, encouraging that they are still selling and not off the radar already.

On a lighter note - does anyone doubt this photo is not photo-shopped?
