All I can say is just enjoy your car and remember that it will always be a fast car no matter what else comes out. You think guys with beautiful classic muscle cars are sweating the fact that some family cars can outrun them nowadays? Cars will keep on getting faster, and soon enough it will be our cars that are getting spanked by grocery getters. But they will still be the same badass, tire shredding monsters we know and love. I plan to still be driving and enjoying my car long after technology has rendered it obsolete as a high performance car.

I'd still rather have my ol' LT1. My camshaft doesn't explode.

Funny how this sort of news never makes headlines when it affects Toyota or Honda.

Damn, Now I know why my Uncle wanted to race me in his I-Force 5.7L V8 Tundra. It's just new technology like said above. New vehicles are coming out with **** that didn't even exist in the early-mid 90's.

Wow! That was a good post!

Toyota is getting 381 hp out of 5.7 liters in that truck, that is pretty stout.

I'm gonna keep mine in good shape and worship it like folks worship first gen Camaros, even if my 2017 Chinese-made Cherry can beat it in the quarter. LOL.

All these newer cars have a lot of get-up-and-go, but in the long run, they die out rather quickly. It's because they just don't have the TQ and low-end power. I don't think these family cars will ever have this tire shredding power because that's just too torquey for those buyers. Accelerating up to driving speed sure is nice and everybody wants that, but not everybody really wants to go from 60-100+, so there's no market for that in the family sedans and "grocery-getters."
