I've always used the fel-pro 1406's on both my LT1's and they've been great and I believe they cost about $17 for a set

I'm pretty sure I used the FelPro 1470's. I put my PaceSetters on over 2 years ago. No leaking or issues here.

Noooo! With my turbo setup, I got decent life (a few weeks) out of the conventional 1406 Fel-Pro gasket. I got tired of changing them, so I installed Percy's Dead Soft. They lasted less than 10 miles, literally. I then switched to COPPERSEAL and they've gone 2+ years and I've re-used them several times. I will say that the Copperseals are fairly unforgiving if the gasket seating surfaces aren't flat. Some header flanges are horribly warped (namely SLP) so you need the softest gasket possible and the Copperseals won't work well.

i got a set of copper seals when i first got my headers and had nothing but leaks with the first start up. then was in a jam and used the ones that came with the headers. eventually they blew out within a couple days. same with the fel-pros and mr gaskets but lasted a few weeks. i put the dead softs in and had nothing but complete sealing from heads to headers lol reused them two or three times so far. i dont think this guy has a turbo on his car either . one person will have luck with something and the other wont. i guess its the luck of the draw.....

I'm running Fel-pros, and I love them. I got mine at Advanced Auto, and they were under 20 bucks I thought.

Your header flanges more than likely aren't flat. It's poor QC on the header company but very common. Most people have gasket problems and think it's the gaskets fault, but it's usually not.
