You should be able to do it without taking anything off. You just have to get under the car to do it. There should be a sticker under the hood that shows how to route the belt.

i have never had on gm car that just had metric bolts and nuts on it.. that is dumb to say...
yes... gm generaly sticks to 8, 10, 13, 15, and 18 mm on most of the stuff... but a lot of things on the car (mostly seems on the motor) are standard.

but then again there is a varience from one brand of tool to the next. I say this because if any of you use cornwell end wrench's they have some weird design on the open end and sometimes i just barely can't get em to fit and have to use a different size.

Once you lose the tensioner, have a friend or somebody else pull the belt at the alternator pulley, its much easier than to get it off at the tensioner, since the ratchet, socket and your hand are on the way. It goes back on in the same order.

Yep, believe it or not it is simple! I know its shocking. My car sits at stock height, I can change it out without lifting the car up, by myself with the underdrive pulley. Now that is fun usually takes a extra shot or two at it to get it right. I can't wait to go to a one piece underdrive/balancer.

I always put the belt around the power steering pulley last. I don't remember if I can get to the belt from the top on a 4th gen f-body but I can on my thirdgen.
