Well dude, it is "LS1" tech.com. You have to remember this place was originally designed for them. I'm not being snobby when i say this but there's LT1tech you can hangout at if you really feel that upset about it. Not trying to get rid of ya, just letting you know there are other options lol.

Truthfully it doesn't bother me. I come here for the info, best damn place for information on my car. As long as the info stays top notch i'm content.

Haha ummm "new product showcase?" When is the last time you saw heavy R&D go into a new LT1 part?

Why do you think people always bitch about "the same off the shelf cams?" It's because big companies haven't developed LT1 parts since about 2000.

It is very true that there is not near the activity in the after market for the LT1s as the LS1s. There seems to be talk of some new stuff though here and there. Didn't Comp just come out some new cams for the LT1, or am I mistaken? And wasn't Dart supposed to be releasing some new heads? Ive heard some other rumors also, dont remember specifically what they were though because I usually don't pay too much mind till stuff is available or close to it.

The LS1 is the new small block chevy. By that I mean I fully expect the LS1 to become more popular than the tried and true SBC. Its a wonderful design that makes sick power if you trip over it.

I really like my LT1 warts and all but its been out of production since 98 or so and the LS1 has and will carry the torch admirably for decades to come.

Look into some of the old school stuff for ideas for your LT1. Its more traditional SBC than most people think.

I have owned both and I took my 383 LT1 pretty far mod wise but has a few achillies heels (sad to say) where for same if not similar money you can make more power in a LSX motor. Even on a stock LS1 block you can make more cubes easier then a LT1. Just a small example among many.

Very true. I took the 6.0 Iron Block that I bought and dropped in the 4.000" Stroke Crank without Clearancing it.

I think one of the upsides to the LSX Series it that the parts are all pretty much interchangeable..you can get some good setups very easily.

Probably one of the things that is killing the thought of getting a LT1 is the power/mod aspects of it, like mentioned above. The LSX is the new bad boy on the block, and it's holding it's ground with no problems, and the potential is only getting bigger with that setup.

That is why I switched over, I wanted something with some crazy power with not too much invested, and I wanted something with a large aftermarket, which the LT1 kinda lacks..

I also think there is a smaller community that mods lt1's vs ls1's. The site is a business and needs to cater to the larger crowd IMO. But this is why I have an lt1. I get bored watching ls1's go down the track, same can be said for Mustangs.

You do realize the only parts of these forums that are specific to LSX's is the Gen 3 interenal/external and gen 4 internal/external sections right? All the other sections aren't specific to a motor.

Word, every other section applies to an LT1 car

I started as a Ford man in a town of Chevies - I went to Pontiac for the GM reliability and better body. Now after owning both LT/LS - I like the underdog, again.

Hang in there - the 1955 - 1981 Pontiac V8 didn't get aftermarket aluminum heads, roller cams and now even wild aftermarket blocks until 15+ years after production stopped! Popularity grew and the manufacturers stepped up.
In the 90's we could hardly get a decent intake manifold - now you can buy 600hp pump gas stroker motors from 5 different places

The LSX crowd will go wild for a decade and many will be bored with the mainstream and demand to improve the LTX will then grow - I believe.

Quick Reply: why dont the lt1 guys get as many forums as lt1 guys?
