Default True dual ?

If I keep my car, I am putting true duals on it. I will be getting Pacesetter LTs, jegs x-pipe, and then have it dumped at the rear. My question is, I know ground clearance will be ****, so I was thinking of going 2.5 inch. However, this motor will eventually be a 383 H/C/N20 motor, so will the 2.5 inch exhaust be a bottleneck in the future? would 3 inch be better in this appilication?

Definitely go 3", you do not want a future bottleneck and clearance is not an issue with a good muffler fabricator, plenty out there are making great clearance when done right.

sweet, I am in contact right now with a company about a half hour from me, they can do the entire install including the headers (i work 7 days a week, don't have time to do it myself) for $375, with me supplying the headers, x-pipe, and mufflers...

man, that is a ridiculously low installation price. you better jump all over that. most shops charge $400 to do headers on an LT1. oh, and definitely go 3".

the guy told me since I am having the exhaust installed at the same time, he'd cut me a deal and only charge 275 for the headers...

great price, be sure and re-check header bolt torque, or at least ensure they are tight after a good break-in. You'll love the true dual setup with headers.

i'm looking to go true duals too and i agree with all of them go 3". I'll be going with longtubes and a universal 3" x pipe kit and dynomax bullets w/ turndowns before the axle.

good combo, check out Dynomax's stainless xpipe, it's a piece of art, I'm running that with Dynomax bullets as well.

i could go with dynomax's x pipe kit w/ the aluminized steel since it's about the same as a jegs or summit x pipe kit. Doubt there's much of a difference in flow though

besides supplying the headers, x-pipe, and mufflers, what else do I need as far as things like O2 sensors, deleting EGR, etc? I am waiting for the state of Illinois to send me the slip saying I never have to take emissions again...Once I get that, if I still have this car...all hell will break loose, haha...

if your o2 sensor are good then you can reuse them. you need to buy either extensions or extend them yourself. if you get race version headers then you'll be deleting egr and air. to delete air you can just take all that junk off but for egr you need block plates. you can get them from umi for pretty cheap www.umiperformance.com i'm pretty sure theyre a sponsor. you will also probably want to get better gaskets for your headers and possibly some stage 8 header bolts
