well I think you guys have sold me on the swap! but I'm affraid it will take me a while to get all the parts together and make it happen. Maybe if the wife will let me take a small loan I could go out and start rounding it all up!

Man that is some bad news... I can't believe that I can't use my LT1 T-56. Its gonna take me a while to either sell my T-56 or save the money up for an LS1 T-56! Good thing I have a daily driver

I was pondering a LS1/T56 swap. I've had my Racetronix P&P system for about a year. Would I need to change that with an LS1 swap? I was planning on H/C/I, that's the reason for the fuel pump upgrade.

Don't know if anyone mentioned it yet but, along with that K-member, you also need an LS1 steering rack.

Yea I looked around the net for this, apprently it's a straight up guide to put ls engines in older vehicles maybe it would be pretty usefull.

btw any one get a parts cost estimation for all the crap required for the swap?

I have an Excel spreadsheet of mine right now and its lookin right around 6500 to 7K... But seeing as I sold my shortblock for 2500 and looking to sell my heads for 750-1000.... Its really not that bad.

Will you PM me all the info you have on your heads? I might be seriously interested in them.

As far as speartech doing your harness, I got in touch with them last year about doing the same harness for my 94 Z28, and they told me that they really weren't doing much with the LS1 harnesses anymore. If you want, I can forward you the email I got from them about modding the harness, provided I can find it.

this is what my sheet looks like.

Engine.....................................2000
LS1 T56...................................1600
LS1 Kmember..............................100
LS1 steering rack and shaft...........200
Aeromotive FPR and fittings...........250
LS7 Clutch and flywheel................500
LS1 Slave cylinder and pilot bearing.125
Headers......................................500
PCM and Wiring Harness.................650
Misc(alt bracket, and little things)....200

That sums up to about 6000 and then maybe 1000 in labor or so. Kinda pricey but not so bad after i sell my engine and trans.

WOW, that's more than I thought it would be, probably because I didn't think you'd need a new tranny and assorted parts. That's "only" three grand less than the Lingenfelter LT1 I was "somewhat" considering.

eh I was gonna get an engine off of ebay, they are not that expensive there. Also I was hoping to use the t-56 from my lt1 and just change the bellhousing and buy the LS1 drive shaft.
That would knock a bit off that list if I could...
