Default Lt1 Open Header Question

How long do your collectors have to be so you don,t screw up the oxegen sensors while running open headers??

I dont think you will mess them up, they will just pull incorrect readings.I did mine with just the y pipes and did not like it!

mine ran just fine on the dyno as far as a/f goes with headers dumped off the y-pipe

When the pcm goes into VE (WOT) it doesn't care what the O2s say. They are for part throttle as far as I know.

I think the problem you see with driveablilty with O2s and open headers is the fact that the sensor is so close to the open air that it tends to pick up the oxygen there and gives false readings. A cutout at the Y pipe would solve that problem. Cutout after the headers wouldn't be a big deal in a track situation since they are bypassed at WOT as mentioned.

I run this race muffler welded right to the collectors on my Kook long tube headers and I have no problems

I can get you one on the weekend but I will tell you it is far too loud for the street.
I dont really know how much they muffle the sound but I just use them because the race class I run in requires mufflers
