You got to have them hooked up to the headers. Fuel system gets readings from these sensors in order to adjust air to fuel ratio, without these, engine will run like crap... you can tune the rear sensors out, but you got to keep front ones.

Most likely you will need extensions. And in this case, sounds as if you will have to drill out the collectors for O2 bungs.

Lots of vendors on here have extensions and so do Jeg's and Summit. You can make your own by just lengthening the wires.

Don't drive it like that. If it's too rich enough, it'll wash down the rings and cause severe wear, and may even lead to early death of bearings. Fix the O2s, change the oil immediately.

Buy O2 sensor bungs and have them welded on... I don't get why ANYONE would sell a header without O2 bungs.

You need 02 sensors, buy a set from Sam Taylor, about 35 each. You can get extensions at Speedinc.com a sponsor, you only need the 12" flat style extension and some zip ties.

FYI do not drive the car.

http://www.speedinc.com in the elec/pcm section
IZM9127 12" Front LT1/Vette (Rear GTO) Flat O2 Exention (each 17.99)

This is a ODB2 PLUG but you get the idea

The 12" extensions would have been a little close when I got mine for my 94 TA. Just a warning, better safe then sorry!

The offer 24 " but those were WAAAAY too long, just get zip ties in case, if they made a 18" I think it would have been ideal. I bought the 24" and learned the hard way.
