oh man i gotta get the 227 now! what kind of rockers and springs, retainers, pusrods, and lifters should i get? man i got to do this now!

in other words tell me the bare necessities i would need to run the 227. i really dont wanna get a stall

i have a custom cam I am wanting to get rid of that was a breeze to drive everyday. its a 224/230 with a 111LSA and high lift. Let me know if you are interested in pics and what not, just shoot me a PM. Should make around 350rwhp with correct supporting mods.

A little nosing around your local copy of the internets would uncover the fact that the "227" cam has Crane part number 104227. Crane recommends their 10308-1 springs/retainers (10309-1 for iron heads). At least one mail order place sells both: $280 for the cam and $160 for the springs and retainers, although I was able to find them for more money elsewhere. (Mail order house not a sponsor so you'll have to climb that summit yourself.)

BTW the zz4 cam at 208°/221°, .474/.510, 112° LSA is regularly available as a "new, takeout" on a well known internet auction site for $105 shipped.

Search the forum for zz4 and read all about it, including the required machine work (on the cam, not your block).
