Default Timing Question

So I got my starter problems figured out finally. I went to fire the motor today though, and I got smoke blown out the intake in my face. Its like the motor was 180 out. Or thats my guess at least. But the opti only goes on one way...? How do I adjust timing on an LT1 lol...ive never done it.

had the same exact problem but i had actually put it in one of the holes that looks like a clover... all i did was take of the dist cap and tried to see if the rotor would turn either way if its in the clover shaped hole it will turn one way or the other if its where it should be it wont turn at all.

The only way to adjust timing is through use of software such as HP, LT1 Edit, Tuner Cats ect, or if you have the MSD Opti...
