Default Plug wire questions

Well im kinda pissed, i got my oil pan fixed and the the oil pressure. But because i have headers my taylor wires have been burnt and now are arcing and not firing correctly. Either way it goes, this is all located on the drivers side which luckly takes maybe 30minutes to switch out. so, ima head to o'reily's tommorrow and get some borg-warner LT1 wires and gonna replace the whole driver side, while the passenger side is still taylor. Is this a bad idea? This isnt a long term thing, i just need to use this as a diagnostic thing to determine the issue.

Thanks guys.

I don't think it would be a huge prob, Are they the same size (mm) For future ref I went through three sets and now I use the Accel Extreme 9000 wires, they have a super high heat tolerance and perform great.

im in college too but i did it (thunder wires). sometimes you have to just leave the monster parked till you can really afford to get what it deserves

it was a pain in the *** for me to get the wires through the boots until i got a can of ... (i cant remember to save my soul) but anyways i think it might have been silicone but im not sure. and sprayed a very healthy amount on the boot and wires and hurried and pushed/twisted them through. the whole cutting thing isnt that bad once you decide that you are going to get off your *** and do it. I cant lie though my box sat in my car/house for a month(s) till i got around to doing it.. you definitely dont want to take too long on the install so set a few hours aside so that you can take your time and do it right the first time without wasting a wire, metal end thingies, boots, etc. you'll see what i mean when you get the kit.

yea well, i've ALWAYS wanted canton valve covers. I dont wanna have to buy another kit when i get em, so i'll get em the first go around. Also, i talked to a lady at thunder racing and she said that canton wont be making the valve covers anymore, for a long time. So there are only three left in the U.S. Im not sure if shes trying to get me to buy sooner or if she's serous, but i want my canton valve covers!

Also, im working over the thanksgiving break and geek squad pays well. So i should have the money after thanksgiving.

http://ken.lowrance.com/Projects/OVC...OVCInstall.htm

That is exactly what I used when I did my OTVC kit. It made things sooo easy! And yes the silicone spray made it much easier.

If I was to get the Canton valvecovers I wouldn't want to cover them up with spark plug wires. Thats just me though, its your car so you can do what you may.

i had some old school sbc valve covers on mine and i couldnt screw the little holders into the valve covers so i had to kinda "engineer" them to fit...
