ITS NOT THE 42lb injectors! Either the engine was assembled wrong or the tune was so rich it washed out the cylinders. Be careful with the B.S. information people tend to spew out. I have been running 42lb injectors for three years on my 383 and it runs flawless. You can scale the injectors down, how do you think stock motor blower cars run bigger injectors with out washing down the cylinders at idle or part throttle! It's called TUNING, for you senseless noobs that dont have a clue! Sorry not tryin to be an ***, but it's starting to get old reading all the B.S. people post.

Oh and Sorry to hear about your blown headgasket! You might as well pull the engine and check the piston rings, because if your dipstick tube was popping up then your compression ring(s) are toast! I had that happen to my procharged stock motor. It made 430whp while blowing the dipstick out of the tube. Found out #8 had a broken ring leaking 25% and still making that kind of power! This resulted in building a 383. Good Luck!

Your right, Im trying to help Darrel by warning him of all the B.S. information out there! It seems senseless to let somebody post some b.s.(that could lead him down the wrong path and cost him time and money) with out calling him out! So why dont you read the whole thread and you might understand.

No no, sorry, what I wrote mislead you. Definitely point out what's wrong! That's how we learn, some people have more knowledge about certain things than others. I'm just saying try not to just bash other people. You know what I'm sayin, because you're on or at least used to be on, clubgp. Don't let this forum get that way!

Yea your right, I dont mean to offend anybody! It just rubbed me wrong to see such a silly post about 42lb injectors washing down the cylinders! He probably was honestly just trying to help! Synical I aplogize for my statement, but try to be more specific on your reasoning behind your post. There are thousands of people running 42lb injectors w/ no problems. Yea the 42lb ers might be a little on the big side for his setup, but if the tuning is right it definately should not be a problem.

Agreed, hell, in theory, you could run huge injectors as long as you tone them down with tuning. Obviously matching the injectors to the amount of air you're flowing, then fine-tuning with the computer is a good way to do it. Thanks for understanding what I meant King!

I would pull the motor if your blowing the dip stick out of the tube. That means you have excessive blow-by. Trust me I went the route of just fixing the headgasket to find out that number 8 was leaking 25%. If I knew then what I know now i would of just pulled the motor and saved myself 700.00.

king-lt1 you are out of line bro.Read the post again the key word is (could).BTW just because i have a low post count dosent mean i am a noob. Also when i share idea's on here it is almost always from personal experience.I try not to post heresay info.
Just to give an example about tunning problem possbilities.I sent a ecm out to get tuned a few years back. When i got it back the damn thing would'nt even start the car.Called the tuner(a very reputable one i might add)and he told me nooo waaayyyy not my tune its your car.Anyways point is mistakes or misconceptions happen even with the best of us.I understand your frustrations and your right i could have added more info.i post on here through my phone and sometimes i don't have the patients to elaborate.
Darrell how did the mechanic come up with blown head gasket?

Try not to be so defensive. It would be nice to see people post as if they were talking in person.I assure you that face to face that would not be how our conversation went down.
