Default Has anyone made reservations yet for a hotel?

Just wondering if anyone has made a reservation for the shootout yet? If so where are you staying? Looks like there is quite a few choices.

Thanks Mike

Are you kidding? We are going to have to sleep in the truck. That way we can afford diesel for the trip home LOL!

I may head down for Friday T&T if they are open. Will need the practice. So if I was sleeping in the truck I don't think anyone would talk to by Saturday night.

I saw we all stay at the same hotel...

Any though of security at a hotel? maybe the local PD? There will be quite a bit of money sitting in the parking lot...

One of the biggest concerns. I know when we go to the open road races they have security.

Thats why I want to be at the same hotel as the big dogs. When they see what I have they will walk right on by and hit the next trailer.

I'm working on getting a hotel lined up for us. A local F-body guy works at the DoubleTree in Overland Park, KS (about 10 minutes from the track), and can get us a group rate.

I'll post the info as soon as it's all worked out.

Heres an idea for security. Pick some people to sleep in shifts (volunteers work best) take a 2 hour shift or a 1 hour shift if you have enough people.
Watch the cars for 2 hours and then wake the next guy, he does his 2 hour shift and wakes the next guy so on and so forth. I got this idea after having professional thieves hit a bunch of cars at a hotel during a Super Chevy show in Topeka back in the day.

That way there is always someone up watching for dirtbags.

I am local but I plan on getting a room so I can hang out with all the out of town guys. I will volunteer for the middle of the nite shift right now as I work second shift and am up late anyway, no big deal for me.

that works but then what if something does happen while this person or few people are awake? that makes them liable and then people get sue happy and **** happens its best to just have the local pd patrol the lot from 12-6

Arent they allowing drop off at the track? Thats what most places do. The you take your truck (unless your car is your driver) to the hotel. They usually have 24 7 security at the tracks.

KCIR runs a T&T/Grudge night on Fridays, and yes, you can leave your stuff at the track. That's most likely what I will do, but they don't nessarily have security. They do have gates and such that they close, though.

Im with you as long as there is security at the hotel. If not, I guess locked gates at the track is the next best thing. Maybe ill just sleep in my car...
