Default Programmer 96-97 LT1???

Witch programmer do yall think is the best as far as setting timing and fuel mapping, Superchips or Hypertech? I'm looking at one to set my 97 RS up with 3.23's, and 245/50/16, and maybe a cam setup later on. That is after I drop in my LT1 A4.

Neither. You will get 100X better results out of a mail order tune or some kind of software. IMO handheld tuners are not worth the money. Plus you cant tune for the cam with either of those.

What is a mail order tune? Is that a chip for the ECU? Sorry but I have never had to tune one before.

A mail order tune is where you send in your computer and have it tuned, then it is sent back to you. Either that you could get some software and do it yourself.

But you sure aren't going to be setting any timing or fuel mapping with hypertech or any other handheld.

for mail order tuning, pcmforless.com or madz28.com

LT1 Edit is another option, available through www.carputing.com. I have the Jet DST and it works for me. I wouldn't waste my money on a handheld.

Yes, but it is more limited and the owners are ********, so I generally recommend Jet.

LT1Edit has zero (nada, none, squat, worthless) support from the company. All they want is your money for something they have not worked on for years and years. I have it (not my choice, my tuner at the tiime made me buy it), and it is also more limited than Jet, which I have seen but not used myself. If I had it to do over again, I would go Jet every time.
