Default Intake backfire... Need help

Well problem started shortly after i put the stock 1.5's back on. I was constantly breaking pushrods, so i called comp cams and they decided that they're 1.6 magnum rr's may have been defective. Ever since the car has been runnin horribly. And after it gets some heat in it and idles for a little while it will backfire in the intake manifold (i can feel it hit the throttle blade). I have never had a tune, and the car ran so good after the cam swap that i was just puttin it off til i had a little extra paper to spare.

I thought maybe i burnt a wire or something but i havent been able to find it.
Also checked my plugs and they look fine. Checked as many sensors as i could, and even replaced the opti (since i had a warranty on it). My teacher suggested that my valve timing was off and that maybe i had an intake rocker too tight, but ive adjusted them so many times im convinced its somethin else.

Has anyone else ever had this problem?? What did it take to fix it?? Also any other suggestions of the source of the problem would be great.

Turning the pushrod method. Tried using the pushrod clips that keep the oil from shooting everywhere so you can do it while its running, but they dont work very well. I used the same method when i did my cam swap and everything went fine. Like said i have broken several pushrods on different occasions. I have adjusted the rockers over 10 times since i've had the car, and at least 2 times since this problem occured. Not saying im an expert lol but im pretty convinced its not the problem. I will give it one more try tomorrow though.

Oh and the problem only seems to occur when the engine gets to running temp and idles for a little while, or on highway trips.
