Single plain users, I need some help
Hey guys I am going with a single plain on my new motor and we are trying to figure out what will fit under the hood and such.
I want to use a 4 barrel type throttle body and it will probably be a 4500 flange. Anyone have pictures of how this would fit on top of a Vic Jr, Super Vic or anything close?
I think I going to hold out and get Wilsons new Raised Runner composite when it comes out.

I have a professional products super hurricane EFI manifold with a custom elbow. Mine will not fit under a stock hood. My friend has a Victor EFI manifold with a custom elbow, and his WILL fit under a stock hood. I'll try to find pics in a minute.

That elbow fits under a stock hood?? That would be cool, but I think I need more TB than a 58mm, I think a 4500 flange would be more of what I am looking for, I'm mainly wondering what/how I am going to get an aircleaner on the thing.
Would you happen to know what the pad height is on that intake, and how far it is from the cowl??

You cant get an aircleaner on a 4 hole TB, you will have to use a bonnet like a blow through deal uses and attach piping to a filter.
Look at the pics in my sig, I am making close to 600hp on pumpfuel with that setup normally aspirated.It has a 1300cfm monoblade on the elbow.

Yeah yeah I've seen your set up David Very sweet looking. I just am beuing told I need more CFM than that, and it seems like the single blade TB's have tip in issues. Have you had any problem with it stumbling comming off idle?

Is anyone running something bigger than a LT1 Monoblade on the street without driveabilty issues? The LS1 TB would be easy to package but I worry about tip in and turbulance caused by the elbow when using a plate N2O system.

YUP!
Drives just like a stocker, with a BIG cam he he. SOme monoblades have to be drilled for extra idle air. Mine did not, Ed did an awesome job.
Damn 95ttop, how much motor you got to need more than 1300cfm?

To my knowledge the LT1 style monoblade flows the most air for that style TB(1300cfm). Including the LS1 style round ones. The biggest LS1 style to my knowledge is a 90mm, and it flows 1000cfm, guys are making BIG power with those.
Why are you worried about "tip on" turbulence using the N20? N20 will come on over 3000 rpm and full throttle.
SO obviously you have a carb style intake right? Use a carb plate NOS system, NX and Zex make them without bars in the middle. Thats what I am about to do.

2 seperate issues
1. Tip in while street driving(or when my wife drives it)
2. Turbulance caused by the elbow would be a concern both on and off the bottle, just something about that big turn right before it hits the intake kinda worries me.

My car has NO tip in problems AT ALL.I leave the starting line just off idle at the track. On the street it pulls off from a light like a stocker.
I dont see where the elbow would affect NOS, alot of LS1 guys are doing it with a Victor style intake.
Do an elbow and a plate system under it OR a port fogger.
I dont see where 370 inches will need more than 1300 cfm. Unless you are spinning it to 8500 rpm, then I would question it. I have seen a 1300 cfm dominator make 975 hp normally aspirated.
With a 4 hole style TB you will have to notch the cowl to get any kind of bonnet or filter on it, If you plan on street driving it and get caught in the rain the underhood will get wet. Not to mention the hot air from underhood will be pulled in when driving.
Not beating my drum, but a setup like mine with a ram air hood/filter setup is the way to go. Cold air from outside and the hood is sealed. Ed Wright went 9.80's normally aspirated with the same exact setup, so I dont see where it is a restriction.

Yeah I'm leaning more toward the LS1 setup, I have a 58mm now but I don't think that will be enough. I really like the Wilson elbow and 90mm or 105mm setup and it would be easy to package for sure.
Anyone running this set-up wanna share there thoughts?

Looks like a 90mm will be the choice.
Anyone got any 90mm guidence? I'm talking with a guy about a NW now, are these ay good? Whats a decent price for a nice used one?

Do a search on CZ28.com to wire up the Ford style TPS to the LT1 wiring. Unless you are going to use a FAST or BS3. You got to get a throttle cable on it, other than that nothing.
