I bet you'll have to open your hood about a 1000 times to show everyone you've really got an LT engine in there. Maybe you should get one of those clear plastic hoods.

big cowl,

As long as you meet the minimum race weight, stock style suspension, and meet all the rules and requirements you can run in the class you fit in.

Ya looks like i`m out. Why do they have to have a weight limit to all the classes ? I can`t see adding 600-700 pounds to it when i just gutted the thing last month

You guys need to quit bitching about KCIR.....our actual elevation here in Lubbock is 3200ish...DAs average around 4500. Give me a 2000 DA afternoon and I'll pee myself with joy! ANY track can hook. Its a matter of prep, and whether or not your car is set up for how much power you are making.

I have seen the track on a 1320 Video DVD...either Pump Gas Drags 06, or Drag Week 05, can't remember, and it seems like a nice facility.

The track hooks good most of the time. It was 2-5 tenths QUICKER than our local track was, but you really can't compared a run down OLD track like KCIR to a brand new HIGH DOLLAR track like any of the big ones listed above.

If you can afford to have it at Gateway, chicago, indy, etc, then go ahead, your prep will be better, BUT, it's going to cost 2-4 times as much! (higher entrance fees)

actually I was a part of the group that input ideas to create the classes. the rules are fairly lax, imo. you went a different route to go faster..... major weight reduction. fact is our cars are inherently heavy. I think as a group we tried to accomodate everyone. even the LSX races have minimum weight requirements. it helps to level the playing field.

i know we couldn't please everyone. I know I would still go even if I didn't have a potential to win a class. even then nothing is a lock. would love to see you there at the race. hopefully I can see your ride some time this summer down woodward or telegraph if you have it out

I agree with the weight requirements. Even NHRA Super-Street class (10.90) has a minimum weight requirement.

I just think there should be another class it would make it more interesting and fun the watch. A guy i no has a 355ci lt1 in his fiero but wait he can`t come because he don`t weigh enough. He has a friend that has a sweet little mazda with a 383 lt1 but wait he can`t come because he don`t weigh enough. I bet by next year the lsx rules change. Some of these little cars can`t put a fat enough tire on the back and are bouncing of the walls and thats what i call interesting and fun to watch so what would it hurt to add another class ? Its not to late

bigcowl,

no way in hell GM will allow LT1's to their LSx show!!!!! I would love to be wrong on that but it is NOT gonna happen. setting up a class for 2 or 3 cars really isn't the wisest of decisions...imo.

Hmmm where did that come from ? Who said anything about allowing LT1's to their LSx show?? Did you read the whole thing ? The guy before you new where i was coming from.
Also if i bring my 95 impala with a 396ci its not fair for me because you guys get to weigh 3200-3400 pounds so wheres the 4 door class ?? Like i said who made these rules and classes ? Why wasn`t this called the f-body only shoot out

So should we make a class just for you ? Seems like that is what you want. Bring your Mustang at any weight and you can run in Outlaw.I'll see you there!Or bring your impala I'm sure some people will need a ride from the airport....It is just a taxi anyways isn't it.j/k Bring your cars and run the brackets that is what they are there for.(cars that dont fit or are not competitive in heads up classes)
