I've had my hotcam in for over 5 years and have been extremely happy with it. Is it the most powerful? No, but it did help me put down 385 at the wheels and it is very streetable.

The 227 sounds near stock. Little or no lope at all, which I think is a good thing.

Based on the results I've seen, I'd say it out does the Hotcam throughout the powerband. You probably won't find a fair back-to-back comparison of the 2.

I would have to agree Ive seen better results with the 227 than the hot cam. For sure the 227 has more usable power that you would want for dd'ing.

advertised power bands are way off. My car makes power past 6000 with the cc503. Comp also rates they cc306 from 1800-5800 which is wayyy off.

hmm ok, so that leads me to my next question which is, why the 503 over the 305 or 306 which have higher lifts / duration ?

the 305 has a little more lift on the intake but less duration. the 306 is pretty big for stock unported heads. im not saying it wont work but why run a bigger cam when you dont have to. to get the full benefit from a 306 you will have to spin the motor higher than i'm sure you want to.

This d@mn cam decision has been officially over-thought and discussed too much. Stock Eliminator racers don't spend this much timing choosing a cam! At this point, I don't really care which one you get - just make a decision.

Is there any way to un-subscribe?

I'd appreciate that. Don't bother me unless you want more than 900 hp.

There probably isn't 10 hp difference between all those cams, so my point is that you're laboring over something that isn't going to make that big a difference.
