You don't want bosch. Order some ac delco from gmpartsdirect. The part # is 25312184.
and yes you only need 2.

ok another quick question. if I bought new O2s would I have to splice them in because the wire would not reach?

also tonight I will unplug the sensors let it warm up and see what happens, and I will also pop the hood to see if there is any fried wires.

but im still wondering why if my sensors are that fucked why there is no SES light?

forget the whole splicing crap. buy some damn pre-made o2 extensions. thats probably your problem right there speedengineering.com or somethings has them

The obd1 cars are just a lot less sensitive to things like that. If the sensor fails on an abnormal reading it will often set the light, but it's not a guaranteed thing.

exactly my point. get the ones where you just plug into the connector. no cutting of wires or anything. makes it soo much easier changing them. its fool proof. just plug in and go

scroll down about half way down the page and fine the ones you need. im not sure if you have the flat style or square. there $22.99 each

i used 12in extensions. there was just enough slack to get them to connect so they kinda hang there. if you dont mind that then get 12's. if you want to ziptie them up out of the way then get the 24in.

if u left the plugs in when u put the headers on. change them cause i did when i put shorties on my car years ago i must have tapped one of the plugs. i had a hairline crack in one of the plugs that u could never see and it made my car run like yours. make sure you put all new ones in too not just some of them.

There is one other possibilty not yet mentioned. Especially if the headers touch the K-member, false knock can be a big problem. make sure there is sufficient clearance that the headers don't hit solid parts. And even if they are clear, an Lt4 knock module might help, they are little less sensitive to some sounds, IF false knock is an issue.

I had several issues with my 93 when I put headers on it.....1. I had to go with an LT4 knock module because the computer was pulling 8 degrees of timing out at WOT 2. I put heat wrap around most of my plug wires because several melted and others got real spongy from the heat and did not work correctly 3. I bought Bosch 02s which never worked right, I ended up buying AC Delco and my problems went away.

Also, don't use Bosch plug they suck too.....

False knock would be one thing and I don't think an exhaust leak would cause these problems.

I've been reading through the whole thread so this post might be kinda long.

I think it's your O2 sensors. That would explain why this doesn't happen until your car heats up. Pacesetter sends you extra wire and splicers but I would not recommend doing it this way. Do it right and buy some extensions. Lots of people have said that when you splice together the sensor's wires like that it will actually change the resistance of the wire causing your O2 sensors to read wrong. If you absolutely must splice them with no extensions it is better solder (sp?) them instead of using connectors.

Also, it could be that your O2 sensors went bad. Coated headers need some "break in" time to clean off all the coating on the inside of the headers. This coating will actually ruin your O2 sensors. When I did mine it didn't ruin them, but when I put new ones in after about 2-3 weeks I did notice a drastic change in gas mileage and the car ran a lot better.

One other thing is your MAF. No one has mentioned this but it could be possible. Did you remove your MAF when you installed the headers? When my MAF went bad (well I actually fried it due to a nitrous backfire) it did the same thing yours is doing. It wouldn't rev, it idled like crap, and I couldn't accelerate without it bucking and surging BAD!

Just my .02

I was actually thinking MAF as well, my MAF went out and my car went stupid for a while, but I never got an SES light. it took a lot of trial and error to figure that one out...an expensive lesson learned...At the end of it all I had new spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap/rotor, O2 Sensors, air filter, knock sensor, and a tune....during the tune the guy told me the computer was having problems with air to fuel ratio, and air intake and crap so he suggested a new MAF before I tune it...I got a new MAF and it cleaned up perfectly...I ended up with KILLER gas mileage after it was all said and done though! lol. And like everyone else says... get ACDELCO....BOSCH SUCKS. Dont get the Bosch plugs, OR O2 Sensors...there is a reason Bosch is cheaper and it shows.

ok I will take a look into the MAF also. and see what comes up. Those are pretty expensive though? dammit

also I dont have coated headers, and my brother and I are good at soldering so we will probably go that route.

Problem is I am leaving for college and I put my car into storage so if I dont get to it this weekend then I will look into it around may. This will give me time to order the correct delco parts and such.
