breather filter
i cleaned the hell out of my TB and intake last night, and was wondering if i could just stick a breather in the passenger side valve cover and just cap off the TB port for the CVV hose. or do i need to do something else for the filter to "hold it in there".

i only have that one hole in the pass valve cover. my PCV is the looped one just a hose in a U shape that doubles back to the intake manifold. the breather i have is the autozone rubber end push type.

you can, but its better to leave the pcv connected, mine is a filter because it looks better but it really is better for blow by and crankcase ventilation to leave it connected to the tb

A breather will do the exact same thing as leaving the hose hooked up to the throttle body. The only difference will be a tiny amount of unmetered air entering the engine which the pcm can easily compensate for, and he will no longer have oil entering the throttle body at WOT. A catch can inline with the pcv valve would still be a huge help with keeping oil out of the intake though.
