Default Stock rockers okay with small cam?

I was just wondering if it would be safe to run 1.5 stock Rockers with a small cam?

cam specs:
208/219, .505/.507 with 1.5 Rockers, and a 114 LSA and .539/.541 with 1.6 rockers.

Are the Stock rockers sound? will they have any problem holding a Lt4 valve spring? and lt4 springs are safe til .550, will I be fine once I run the 1.6 rockers later on?

The 1.5's will be ok, I would upgrade to 1.6's for the increased lift=power. The LT4 Springs are complete junk they are known to be very weak and their max lift rating is .540. With 1.6RR's your cam's lift will be .539/.541. The lift is not only the same as the max lift rating but you want to be under it enough not to have issues. You do not want the valve springs to go into coil bind (maximum compression of the spring till its solid) because this will cause a major failure in the motor. I would look into better springs that can not only handle the lift but are stronger than the LT4's.

The LT4 springs are marginal with the LT4s .525 lift with 1.6s, my gut says they wont work with that cam even with the 1.5 rockers, well maybe stock rockers since they are not really 1.5. Problem then is I have seen guys snap rocker studs at just .510 lift on stock rockers because the slot bottomed out on the stud.

I would discourage you from ordering any cam on a 114LSA, I have seen some set on a 113 for emmissions purposes but even that is a big handycap placed there strictly for emmissions purposes.

Where did you find this cam?

Having done a ZZ4 cam which is similar specs I will tell you to forget the cam for now and instead do a stall and Transgo.

Its a cam motions cam.

114 LCA is fine for me, I do not have emissions in my state.

I was told this would have a very smooth idle and great power band.

Im looking into 1.6RR's and better valve springs right now...

Edit: my car is just a cruiser not a drag strip racer, I just have fun driving it on the weekends, wanted some extra power, but not kill comfort.....

Wider is better for emissions and most off the shelf stuff is already too wide at 112. Some custom LT1 stuff these days is 106-7 which is the other extreme.

With duration that small I don't know why someone would set a non-emissions cam on a 114. Lots of room to go larger and tighter before comfort is affected.

I would have done it differently a ZZ4 cam would be pretty close and DIRT cheap, but let us know how it works.
