Default Delteq Missing

Has anyone ever had this problem. Mine has been on for about 4,000 miles. Today I washed my car and now it misses really bad. I checked the wires, and I could see one kind of glowing odd, but no arching. Any ideas?

Mine cuts out and misses from time to time. Ive checked everything and its all good, so who knows. I know that problems with the optispark distributor can still show there nasty head and cause issues. It is still possible the distributor needs replacing.

Glowing? Nothing should be glowing...

You could use some dishsoap and water in a spray bottle and spray around your wires and check for arching

Did you wash your engine??

I just washed the strut towers, but my wires do run over by the strut towers (over the valve covers). I could have gotten something else wet not paying attention though

a guy on another forum thought that since the wires got wet, they were trying to send the charge on the outside and recommended spraying them with WD40. Anyone ever done this?

Just don't run it for a while and let it dry out. This fixes a lot of these kinds of issues.

There was a recent thread on camaroz28.com about Delteq problems.

This morning I sprayed WD40 on everything as suggested by another forum. It worked really well. The low end miss is gone. I ran it up through the RPM one time to clean it out and I heard it pop two or three times above 4500 RPM but that was all. I think it just had water in a plug wire boot or something. We'll see if it dries out by the time school os over.

had my delteq unit since 2004, with no problems that I know of. I dont know what you mean by "glowing" but, like said above, NOTHING should be glowing.

where is the glowing specifically?
I know at one point some guys got bad plugs that were leaking around the pocelain and that glowed.

It was glowing at the boot on cylinder 4 and all along that wire when i would put it under a little load. Today, it has been better. I sprayed WD40 on them before I left for school and I couldn't see anything after that. I think maybe the casings on the wires is thin and might have gotten moisture in them. Just an idea though. During Lunch, I spun it up to 6000 RPM and it was smooth so I think whatever it was, it has dried out.
