Default Anybody have any luck with this cam?

I am looking at running this cam http://store.summitracing.com/partde...8&autoview=sku

Has anyone had any luck with it. I am thinking that this cam is somewhere between the 503 and the 306. Since Im stuck with the 1.5 roller rockers I figured the extra lift would be good compared to the 306.

yeah that's a common one. People have done well with it (especially with stock or mild ported heads). Why are you stuck with 1.5 rockers though?

Some people will tell you that it is too big, but I don't necessarily think it is depending on what you are looking to do.

If you go with that make sure you have good springs.

thats the 280 XFI... there's been some talk about this already in other threads. search for "280 XFI" or "XFI" and you'll see. I think they were generally saying it would be better with more cubes over stock.

I know more people have run the XE version than this cam, but that size seemed to work well on a stock motor with that version. I haven't seen as many opinions on the xfi and it would probably work better with more cubes but I don't think it would be a bad choice as long as you're willing to shift at 6500+.

I think it would be a better option than say the 306.

I see it being a nice cam with a decent sized stalll, 3.73's and the willing to shift upwards of 6700.
