Are LTx's worth it?

Still worth it IMO.

If I had the coin id be rocking an LSx GTO, I guess I could have bought one at this point with the money spent on the new setup, but I love what I have and I dont feel like its time to switch...just yet.

An LSx car is going to be faster, make more power and have a stronger aftermarket then an LTx car.
It comes down to what 'you' want.

Bad as I hate to say it, a well built stock bottom end LS1 makes the same power as a 383 LT1 .....but has less compression and a much milder cam, just a fact of life here fellas. You can either choose to accept it or stick your head in the sand.
If I had to do it over again, there would be a AFR headed 408 in my car without a doubt.

He was at the track and it was a blue Z28. Only ran once and I couldnt find him after that. I doubt their are TONS of 8 second Lt1 **** probably fewer than 10 in the world but remeber not everyone is on the internet.
I remember once telling an LT1 guy that 325 rwhp would easily get him into the 12s, and all the LS1 guys thought that was impossible... "you need like 340."
There are bolt-on LT1s running 12s which should only be in the high 2xx range.
JMO - ive ridden in 400+ rwhp LS1s and they didnt impress me as much as i expected. Seems like a lot of LT1s run the same times with 50 less rwhp.
Im not going to deny that the LS1 is a better engine, just saying dyno numbers dont always tell you the real story.

I am not gonna get into this argument, you guys can be in denial all you want...power IS power what you do with it AFTER it comes off the dyno is another thing.
I had 2 buddies with bolt on LS1's
Lid
Free mods
ex cutout
3.23 gears
converter
drag radials
Both ran 12.40's at full weight.
LT1 even get IN the 12's with those mods at full weight.....maybe.
You guys can stay in denial if ya want, If it makes you feel better.
I have an LT1 that is on the ragged edge of being streetable. I can make the same power in an LS1 with the same cubes, less compression and a hydraulic roller.
