Default LT1 tuning

OK guys I am wondering if someone can give a little training write up on tuning. Like explain the processes and all the formulas and such. This would help a lot for guys looking to get into self tuning.

yes I do agree that the link above is quite helpful. I have spoken to jsk personally and he is very knowlegeable. I do some tuning here and there, and you really need an understanding of how the computer works, how the maf and map works, spark, air and fuel. The best thing I can tell you is to go to a book store and read every book you can about computer tuning.. I have probably 4 books, and 300 pages of printed material off the Internet that I have searched through. It is deffinetly not easy to tune. Also its very delicate, and you need to make sure you dont chance something and make the carrun to lean or to rich or add to much timing.. Etc etc... Not to mention there are probably at minimum 200 tables in tunercats for obd1 f-bodys...

what books and what bookstore? give me some insight so I can go buy them. I have done some tuning on boosted and N/A hondas before but the tables for the F body are SOOOO much more detailed.

Ok,- I have a couple of books loaned out to a friend right now after calling him to see if he still had them, but I have
Engine Management Advanced Tuning, Electronic Fuel Injection , a book on turbocharging supercharging & nitrous, and another one that is on tuning fuel injected/high performance engines... Not to mention the 300 or so pages I've printed out off the internet and places...

Click on this link and read through the stickies - you will find a ton of great info...

Also- google LT1 PCM tuning, it might take you a few days, but you will eventually come up with what you need...

The basic principles are not all that different. There are a few more specific things especially related to timing and the knock sensor.

If there's any specific questions you have, I would be glad to answer them for you.
