Default LT1 in general?

Is it true the LT1 is an outcast, lined up against the LSx?

Well, ofcourse we all know that LS1's are made by god, and everything god makes is perfect. And everything else on earth is ******* garbage.

I love my LT1.

I like my LT1 because it was practically free. I can't wait to get an LSx to drop in there. Screw all this underdog, etc. If you come to play, bring the biggest stick and the LT1 is not the best of the 2 starting points when it comes to building an all out motor.

For me, any year F-body is family not just the newest ones with the latest drivetrain. I think true F-body fans feel the same.

The LSx has the slight edge on the LTx but I still love my LTx and dont believe I'll ever get rid of it. Its not like the LSx is leaps and bounds ahead either. Its just funny how everyone anymore acts like the LSx has a substantial advantage in horsepower. Stock yeah the lsx is a titch faster. But with the right parts etc you can make either one about as fast as you want.

LS1s have a huge edge first of all, they have tons and tons of mix matching parts and engine combos, along with being able to get way more cubes out of them and stroker setups...

Its a flat out better engine, and the LT1 is also good in its right

LT1s are still faster than most newer cars today, we can convert to SBC heads wich open up a whole new ball game if you will to do so...just costs more money than most setups

High 13s vs LS1s that go low 13s all day and some dip into the 12s

Those couple tenths dont sound like much, but in the racing world thats car lengths

I originally had an lt1, sold it for an LS1. I loved them both, but there is something about the LT1 that I liked more. The iron block give you more or a SOTP feel than the LS1 ever did. And when it comes to looks, the LT1 Camaro looks better than the LS, IMO. True, you don't get the steering wheel controls, unless its a 97 SS / WS6, and the LT1 has about the most retarded ignition system ever designed, (not to mention the world war that is changing the plugs), but there is something about the low end grunt of an LT1 that keeps my coming back...

...that being said, I just bought an M6 97 SS (clone). The only thing its missing is the Ram Air air box. I love these things. I am a fan of the underdog, but don't get me wrong, the second I get the money, an iron LSX 427 with a TVS2300 is going in that bitch. Then I'll have the best of both worlds, good looks, and an insane motor that will make Z06 and Viper owners realize that they ain't top dog.

I love my car and always will, and I enjoy playing the underdog to the LS1. A good running LT1 car is still a fast car by any right, in the general "muscle car" world. It just so happens that the LSx is superior in virtually every way (from an engineering standpoint) and because of that, the aftermarket jumped ship on the LTx in favor of the LSx (for the most part.)

Once you swap heads on the LT1 it's fair game though!!
