Default Corbeau Carrera (CR1) seat install LT1, pics !

Final install of the weekend. After looking at the Corbeau Carrera seat box for way too long, I finally decided to install the seats. In the coming weeks I will be installing a bunch of other items that I have for the interior. I'm not going to install the 4 point harness right now, I will wait to install the new carpet and mats first. After finishing the install it makes me wish I had installed these years ago when I first purchased the seats. Corbeau's sliders worked very well and installed with no problems. These seats are an incredible value for their price/performance and looks ! While driving the car back to storage I was very impressed with how well the side bolsters and overall fit grab your body. Dare I say, European performance at a fraction of the cost. I did install the air bladder in the seats for better lower lumbar support and it worked very well. If anyone is considering the same seat; do it, you won't be dis-appointed for the money. I will take some additional pics of the both seats installed next time I work on the car.

How much for those seats and where did you get them from? Looks good, are you running your belts through the hoops or on the outside?

Thanks, Seats cost me $349 each and the mounts were $55 each ? (I think). I will be installing the 4 points with two through the top holes and 2 for the waist in a couple of weeks. Using the stock restraint for right now. I thought about adding Wolf's bar for the 5th strap ? Not sure if I want to mess around with a 5 point.

Not too bad a price for the seats if they're comfy enough for a DD

Why did you take the front of your car off to install seats? j/k

Those look like really nice seats, why did you get them?

I don't know how much you will or won't like the seats for a daily driver. My car is most definitely not a daily driver ( I don't think I've put 100 miles on this car in 4 yrs.

My front end has been off for a little while, doing some detail work....

I had a 5-point in my 79 Camaro and it wasn't too comfortable. Race car Yes, street car No! Even a 4-point for street driving isn't practible since the shoulder harness don't let you out of your seat to see your blind spots.

Man I've wanted those seats for awhile now, but it's hard to justify $800 for a pair of seats!

LS1Kidd,
It's funny you should ask. There has been some pretty lofty weight reduction figures. So, I weighed my stock WS6 T/A seat with the track and full electronics (40lbs). The Corbeau CR1 with the bracket (35lbs). It looks like you can save a total of 10lbs if you do both seats, but that's assuming you have the T/A seats with all the electronics. If you have the normal seating I would suspect the difference would be almost nill ?

I8ASaleen,
I agree it's hard to stomach the cost, but after you install them you will probably change your mind on the value of $800 seats

Hmm, have you had any long trips in them or is this car for mainly track use? I really like the comfort of the T/A seats, but I might be willin to change that if these don't kill your back on a 200-mile trek

I don't know if I can honestly answer that ? They feel great to me, but I have just put them in the car, only drove around for about 5 minutes before it went back under the cover. If your a thin build you will most likely be fine, but anyone larger than a 34 or 35 inch waist is probably going to be very uncomfortable in this standard version CR1. I believe there is a wide version CR1 that should provide a more relaxed seating position. I personally really like the seat so far....
