I put some small vise grips on mine and turned it back and forth while pushing up on it. While it was out, I trimmed a little of it off and cleaned it real good with some fine sandpaper then wrapped it in plastic and tossed in the freezer until it was time to put it back in.

oh yea definatly...im done working for today....ive got the manifolds off, the o2 sensors extended, everything ready to put them in.
ive always heard that the passenger side slides right in no problem...but mine doesnt at all. I guess im gonna have to jack that side up, sucks ***. im also using the LT's with all the emissions stuff in place, so maybe thats whats up.
I have a question: do i need to remove all the motor mount bolts to jack up the motor? i havent tried yet im gonna continue working on it tommarrow but i just wanna konw by the time i go out there and start.

Not sure on how many bolts needed to lift the motor, i thought there was only one or two you had to remove to be able to jack it

headers slid right in no problem. However, with me, I was replacing the engine
mounts, anyway, which is a good idea if you have high-mileage. When installing
the headers from the bottom, you might have to "twist" the headers slightly, push
them up, then turn them "straight" and they will go up. It's not intuitive at first,
because you want to push them straight up how they will be bolted, but I twisted
mine a bit, pushed up slightly, turned them straight, and they went right in.
With mine, the emissions fittings didnt interfere.
front to back (the bolt "points" to the front and rear of car). Get a floor jack
under that side of the engine (small piece of 2x4 between), jack slightly to
remove the pressure, remove the bolt, then jack up the engine.

true it up. I'm talking about the portion of the tube that lives in the engine block. If
it's not perfectly straight, it will not slide back in. I know, I had to run to the dealership
and get a new one ($18).

The passenger side has the EGR tube, and mine caught on the firewall.
I bent it in the same direction its already bending another quarter inch and it went right in. Be sure and attach the egr junk before its bolted to the head.

I had to install mine at my parents housed in the carport with a gravel floor.
I wound up jacking it up as high as it would go and then digging a damn hole under the car to have enough room.
Ridiculous.

One word of caution ... if you bent the tube, even the tiniest bit, you will have to
true it up. I'm talking about the portion of the tube that lives in the engine block. If
