I underestimated the Lt1
Took the 97 to Cecil tonite just to get a baseline on what it would do and it did a 13.578 at 107.71 with a 2.403 60 i must say im impressed with the car. Gutted cats, 80 series flowmaster, bbk twin 58, eblow and granitelli maf no air cleaner. Im happy with the ol LT1.
Congrats! The LT1 may not be as refined as a LS1, but honestly, it is still good ole brute.

White, does this mean there won't be a LS1 transplant into it?
Is this a 6sp or auto, i agree, that car is movin for being almost stock, gives me hope for my 97 6sp., i will find out tomorrow what it runs, i was told maybe 13s on street tires, but the way it feels, i'm sure it'll go 13s, if that MPH is right, thats a 12 second car easy.
If this is truely all thats done to it without headers/cam or gears, thats smokin.

According to one source I have the DA was -1431, you still did well MPH was but you have to understand that great weather was a definet part of it like probably .2 worth. I am not saying this to discourage but rather so you understand why it is slower next time you go back.
I would echo the comments on get rid of the POS MAF.

all he has to do is wait another 10 years for the next time the d/a is -1500 ft
I would agree hence the title. This car is a "good one". Its a 6spd w/ the stock 3.42's everything. The track had more bite then i thought the fulda tires still wouldnt take. I was really surprised with the mph and even the time to be honest i expected 14's. I just might keep the Lt1.
