Do you have the LT4 HC? It all depends on what you wont it to do and how many rpm's you fill comfortable spinning it to. And if you have to pass a sniffer. Try the sitcky at the top " Stock head/cam swap"

Get a custom grind. Tell the grinder what you want out of the cam. Thats the best way to get all you want out of the cam.

Is the costume grind the best way to go? im spinning the motor to 6200 right now and pushing 336 rwhp, but want more power...the most power i can get out of a L t1. What is the cam with the most power out of an Lt1 A4?

Custom grind is always the best way IMO. I got a custom grind and it met damn near every goal I wanted it to. Get a good grinder and your set.

If you do a cam swap on your LT4 set up, you will need to change the valvesprings aswell. Depending on how radical the new cam, you will need nsa rockers, guideplates, hardened pushrods and/or upgrade to 7/16 rocker studs.Just my 02.

Thing is the LT4 heads as cast suck compared to ported LT1 heads, so even throwing a cam at it it is still not going to make great power.

Had you done some research and spent LESS on good ported LT1 heads and complimentary cam you could have nearly 100hp more.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-modifications/836947-ai200-cc-heads-cam-stock-bottom-end-dyno-s-429rwhp.html

The smoke turned out to be the untouched intake not sealing right and sucking oil from the lifter valley.

Guys will tell you the LT4s are better yet ported but I just don't see it in the REAL WORLD, in bench racing land though everyone believes they are great.

Ported heads that flow under 260 cfm and I'm selling the cam because I put a stock motor back in the car and sold the old motor to fund my BBC project. Check out the Drag Racing forum and you'll see my new project.

That's so true. For the types of motors that most people are building the LT1 heads work very well.

The LT4 kit is rated at 425 FLYWHEEL hp the 366rwhp his is making is just about right for it.
