Default LT1 cooling problems

Guys been having a hell of a time trying to get the air out of a 95lt1 in my 69 camaro, used all of the bleeding procedures etc, then i got to thinking about the steam lines because when I unscrew the bleeder screw on top of the thermostat housing there is a hell of a lot of steam coming out,was wondering if I do the throttlebody bypass if this might help with the steam and bleeding the system,I have been try to bleed this damn thing for several days any insight would be a great help.THANKS!

Did you have a thread on this topic yesterday? You have to keep the bleed screw open until coolant comes out without any air in it, just a solid flow of coolant.

Do you have the steam tube on the back of the heads connected? It is very important that it is connected to your one of your radiator hoses(I have mine in my lower in my 1980 280ZX with an LT1/T56).

Have you tried jacking up the front of the car and letting it run. This is usually very helpful at getting any stuborn air pockets out. I have to do this on mine any time I have to refill the coolant after draining it for any reason. Jack it up like 2-3 feet in the air and let it run for a while like this with the radiator cap off. This has worked for me every time on cars that have trapped air pockets. Also turn on the heater to get teh coolant flowing through that.

Can I ask how do you know there is still air in the system? Are you sure that you are using an LT1 thermostat, and not one from a sbc? You must use a LT1 stat.

I had the exactly the same problem two days ago... I bought the car off of someone after they put a waterpump on and it was overheating.... they forgot to put the sleeve on the back of the watepump that connect the two drive gears....
It was continuing to make steam because the coolant WAS NOT FLOWING!

Also... Has to be an LT1 stat...

I would start by replacing that Thermostat if you have not done so already. I have seen other cars do this as well with a faulty stat.

I had the same deal when I swaped cams, I pulled the t-stat houseing off and primed it by filling the water pump through the T-stat spot and it did the trick..

Default re?

did you put the second bleader back into the cooling system? I belive it should be in the upper heater hose. I have a lt1 in my 67 with no issues.
