Default Best drop in replacement valvespring's?

I need to know the best valvespring's that can handle .550" lift easily and have adaquite spring pressure for around 230ish duration..is there a good spring/retainer combo that will handle this without milling out the spring pocket's?..do comp 987 dual spring's fit the LT1 head's without machining the spring pocket?..Thank's,

Comp Cams dual valve springs will easily handle that...CCA-987-16 or CCA-986-16. one of the two.

I use the crane part number 10308-1. It's a dual spring kit comes with shim, retainers, locks. It's good for .600" lift.Got it from Summit for $148.

I'm running the 977s with no issues - EVERYONE I talked to before the install said it wouldn't work w/o machining the seats - worked just fine for me .

Keep in mind that there is much more to selecting valvepsrings that what the max lift spec is. The lobe profile will have a big impact on how much open/closed pressure you need.

Make sure you install them at the correct height so you know you are actually seeing the correct pressures!
