I second this, they sound awesome and aren't 'too' loud at idle, but at WOT they sound awesome. This is an extremely opinion based question find some sound clips and w/e you do don't jump on any bandwagon. this is completely personal preference. I have the lt4 hotcam>LT's > true dual/x pipe > summit bullets, sounds awesome I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have Hooker Aerochambers with true duals all the way out the back. Best sounding muffler out there I think and it's not real loud either. It has that ping to it, love 'em. If you just want loud then go with dumped duals.

glasspacks are garbage, thats why they are cheap, and available in stock at pep boys. cheaply made, simple design, sounds like crap, garbage. blowmasters sound ok on a stock lt1. because they have chambers and restrict the air to create a sound to make the car sound nasty. when the car is nasty, you want an exhaust that will let more of the natural nastiness out.

Can't get much more nasty than a straight through muffler. Borla is expensive as hell but I think they are garbage. Comes down to personal preference. I just think alot of Fbodies out there sound like crap, they need a glasspack or 2 even.

A lot of haters in this thread when most probably have never actually heard glasspacks. But then again I hate stripes, berger panel, ceta mod, so to each his own.

Mine are fine.. like i said pacesetter LT's to 2.5" x pipe dumped at axle.. it doesn't drone, and isn't that loud until about 3k rpm. I think alot of people on here haven't even heard a system like this in person (not you). its really not that bad? I don't see what all the fuss is about. It sounds awesome too, i can't stand flowmasters/borla/magnaflow.. just garbage sounding IMO...

but there you go.. all PERSONAL PREFERENCE.

Could you post a sound clip or something of this setup? I'm thinking of doing exactly what you have and wanna know what it sounds like!

No glasspack.. it's too open no back pressure. ^^^^ like he said moroso spiral bullet!
My setup is lt headers, 3in ypipe, dynomax bullet (essentially a glassback), followed by the beautiful/unique sound of a moroso bullet. Boom you have a great sounding lt1, no rasp, sporty, not to loud and it didn't even cost me $500.

Running 18" glasspack under the trunk before the tip with L/T's and catless Y and I don't mind it. Love the WOT sound. Killed cabin noise with a Helmholtz resonator.

You don't want back pressure. Anyone who says otherwise has absolutely no idea what they are talking about. You want ZERO back pressure with maximum exhaust gas velocity (which means going with the smallest pipes BEFORE back pressure). A straight through muffler will always out perform a chambered muffler on a properly sized piped exhaust. It's just physics.

http://youtu.be/CjYII99QqFs runs midlengths true duals and glasspacks. Sounds pretty good to me, but to each his own.
