good mods for low budget
won't create more power, but best bang for the buck 10x over. knowing what I know now, gearing would have been the first thing I did to my car, not the last.
PS your car looks good.
Don't get a catback. Get a cutout. Cheaper and flow more. Plus you can quiet it down if you want. best of both worlds.
$100 INSTALLED
Buy an intake (CAI) I have one used for sale that has 2k miles on it. Others sell theirs all the time. So BUY USED!
$100-150 You install
Try to find someone parting out a 6 speed locally and buy their rearend. 3.42s are better than 3.23/2.73s. I got one for $100 or $150. Don't remember but you can't buy just the gears for that cheap. Plus labor install for yourself or someone else is bypassed as well.
$150ish plus you install
If you have an auto then get a cooler and a stall. <----absolute best bang for the buck in the auto world. Beyond nitrous.
$500-700 YOU install
With these mods you SHOULD see LOW 13s for about $1k. Piecing it together one at a time.
Almost forgot. Mail order tune. Made my car feel totally different. It felt so CRISP after. Definitely woke the car up.

and after u get the cam in, get 4.10s/3.73s for cheap, an aftermarket short-throw shifter and drag radials. you'll need a tune for all these, too. believe me, you'll be just about top-dog in your area. you'll have the best of all 3 worlds: 1) traction with the tires, 2) better breathing with the cam/cutout, and 3) incredible shift speeds so you don't lose any of that new-found momentum. the only thing is, you may still have some trouble with the LS1s around, because we all know there's no such thing as a stock LS1 anymore... haha
oh yea i almost forgot... if you want to go *****-to-the-wall, get nitrous on top of all that, as well.
all of those mods are cheap, too! talk about tight-budget performance...
me too, start from the rear and work your way forward, and do all the free mods!
Throttle body bypass is where you take the coolant lines running through the bottom of the throttle body and connect those two hoses together to bypass running hot coolant through the bottom of the throttle body so it doesnt heat the air coming in
the new torque arm? If your looking for budget mods torque arm isnt really a budget mod. A good chassis mounted torque arm is gonna run you 400+ but in my experiences made the single biggest difference in my suspension with respect to traction. If you wanna get into some budget w/ suspension your best bet is relocation brackets. They will run you from 60-80 and gave me more bite. I wouldn't waste money on LCA though...they did nothing for me.
