Help On Torque Converter!!

Default Help On Torque Converter!!

Well i have a 2500 stall converter from peformabuilt transmissions along with your trany, i have a 280xfi cam and my heads ported with bigger valves and the bowls blended, and other goodies, also have 3.73's, was wondering what stall would you think would suit my application best, thinking at least 3000, what are some brands you guys are using

I have a Yank SS3600, drives like normal until you romp on it..

I have a Yank SS3600 too and love it. I wouldn't even consider going any smaller than that especially with a heads/cam car. I'd vote going with a Yank or Vigilante in the 3500-4000 range. If I did it again Id go with a Yank SS4000.

aight thanks, ive seen the prices on them at there website, pretty expensive, anywhere else there is to buy em for cheaper?

I have a Vig3200, and I am also running 3:73's It's a great stall I love it.

I have an edge 3400 stall 9 inch converter, it is a nice piece, the only thing is my brother also had a converter built at the same time and requested a 2600 stall for his cutlass and they gave him the exact same converter. It seems like all edge converters are around 3400 stall

just remember vigs stall higher than advertised.

PTC - Performance Torque Convertors
Probably the best convertor for the money...have ran 2 of these in 2 diff transmissions...always responds well. If you dont plan on running NOS they are very very reasonable...for our cars you can get a NOS convertor for around 450 from them, I think around 300 for a non NOS convertor. They build to order.
