Default Need help after changing plug wires

Okay, I have a 96 Camaro and just finished changing the plug wires. Now the car runs rough and has what sounds to be a back fire if you take it up to about 2000rpms and let off the gas. I checked all the connections and also made sure the wires were ran properly. Any ideas on what would cause this? The wires were the 8.2 Taylor Thunderbolt wires. Car just has tb, cai, shorty headers for engine mods. Also the plugs were changed about 1000 miles ago but I did pull them all out and inspected them. They looked fine. Plugs are NGk TR55 gapped at .044

Sounds as if you have a wire out of place - either at the Opti or at the
plug end. Did you check the resistance of the wires before installing?

"Out of place", meaning, a wire is mis-placed on the Opti or correct
on the Opti, but routed incorrectly to the plugs (which suggests there
are two out of proper order).

I checked the placement and they were correct. I also ohmed out all the wires and they were all good. I will go through them again but almost positive they are correct. I got the drawing of the firing order off shoebox and compared it to that. The car ran good before this and it had two torn wires and one burnt wire.

was the car recently running before you decided to replace the wires?

Nevermind, after going through the wires many times, I found 2 and 8 backwards at the opti. Running great now. Thanks for all your help.

companies that sell opti wires for LT1's should have them pre-numbered from the factory
