I seen it done, it wasnt pretty, and it wasnt easy, but he did it...lol
He went with Southside machine lift bars and a crossmember to take care of what the torque arm did and to keep from having to fab up a mount for a torque arm, he used the spring perches, shock mounts, and panhard mounts from the stock rear, carefully measuring with the pinion angle set right he welded them in place, put on a disc brake conversion from some company I cant remember (classic industries or something like that).
He says he wishes he would have saved and bought one with the goodies instead now he has a stock 2nd gen camaro 12 bolt rear, and alot of busted knuckles.
He also had to get a funky u-joint and have his driveshaft shortened and rebalanced.

As people have mentioned above, there isn't any method to mount the F-Body design torque-arm on to that year model 12-bolt. The aftermarket 12-bolts (Strange and Moser) have a "new center-section casting" that allows for attachment of the troque-arm.
Housing width is also a consideration, however, wheel back-spacing can be changed to correct that to some extent (w/ limitations). As for the LCAs and spring mounts, those could be cut-off an old 10-bolt and welded onto the 12-bolt. Therefore, the torque-arm is the real problem.

I failed to mention. You could always "back-half" your car and install a complete 4-link system. And completely eliminate your factory F-Body torque-arm and LCAs. Which would be expensive and a lot of work to have it done correctly.

i have a friend that told me S&W race cars in PA makes a torque arm mount to weld onto earlier year axle housings. not 100 percent sure if it is correct but you can check into it if you would like. just throwing that out there. they make some HD **** for race cars

They do, but now he has to address axle lengths, ABS and the disc brakes.
