Default 1le elbow vs stock?

so the difference between the 1le elbow and stock is it doesnt have the hole cut in the bottom i beleive...right? so what is this hole for, what will happen if i install a 1le elbow on my lt1 because i need to replace mine due to a tear in the stock one. also, i dont know what the 2 little plugs that plug into the elbow are, i beleive ones opti but will these both be able to be plugged in with the 1le? any feed back is good, im a noob i know. theyre dumb questions but i dont know how else to find this out.

The long silencer is that plastic tube thing attached to the bottom of your stock elbow also known as the donkey dong. The 1LE doesnt require you to keep that thing aka the silencer there anymore and there is really no need at all for it. The 1LE is a direct replacement for what you have now you wont have any problems putting it on.

That means it doesn't have the "donky dong". I'm also looking into getting one myself for basicly the same reason. Are these holes next to each other? I know one would be a sensor, and the other could be the opti. Someone surely would chime in and help us both out.

Edit: Stealth beat me to the silencer explanation!

Here's my old car with the 1LE elbow and you wouldnt know it wasnt the stock one.

I dont recall what those holes or what the connections are for but it doesn't really matter because its all at the same location with the 1LE elbow, nothing changes there.

One "hole" is for the IAT sensor and the other is for a vacuum line.

Not necessarily vacuum line, but the vent line for the Opti. I just cut off the donkey dong and plugged it with a deodorant cap and sealed up nicely.

Yea, you wasted money really, since the stock one can be turned into a 1LE basically. Unless you got the Lingen. CAI and the 1LE in the same auction.

Well, you could've gotten an aluminum one for not much more. There's black painted ones on there for pretty cheap.

What pin? That rubber nipple to hold the hose clamp on? That's why you go with a metal elbow, you use a much better rubber and it has no chance of flipping under, or tearing.

no, ill get a pic of it. the part of the intake going to the stock filter housing itself. theres a little plastic pin that clamps it down so it doesnt wobble around. i found a site that sells similar pieces and im going to check fleet farm tomorow.
